First Pass

Unbeknownst to the Settlers who built Landing as their hopeful new home, they came to Pern in the worst time. The planet was in the midst of its Threadfall cycle, catching the Settlers completely unawares.

Extinction of Dragons

...Or so the Settlers thought. Threadfall brought the deaths of almost every genetically produced dragon, leaving only a precious few. There are no clutching Golds left.

A New Home

Forced to flee the home they had just created, the Settlers find some hope in a Southern forest. Rich with resources and plenty of room, all they can do is hunker down and try to survive.

An Abundance of Some, Not Others

While resources like fresh water, food, and wood are plentiful in their new home, there is a distinct lack of one very important thing: the firestone the dragons need to produce their flame.
